She draws on her contacts in the industry making her transformations all the more unique – she can find everything from personalised window blinds to hand-printed cushion covers – all in accordance with the client’s wishes. The result is a piece of art work reflecting the owner and their individuality.
- 2001-08 Alison designed the interior on several homes within the Manchester, Cheshire and Birmingham area, from lighting configurations, liaising with the trades, managing the projects, choosing all the furniture, lighting, curtains, wallpaper, creating functional space, to accessoring, to spectacular hand painted walls. Each project reflects the personalty of her customers giving style, impact and individuality.
- 2007 Aug Alison opened a showroom in Heaton's displaying F-B-I Products, Furniture, Mirrors, lighting, European Designer Fabric and Wallpaper, jewellery, ceramics and glasswear.
- 2001-08 Fagan-Bird Interiors has helped several Interiors Designer and Architects to achieve a special look with products from 'Once in a lifetime collection' as several Show Homes and Penthouse apartments in France, Denmark and throughout the Uk,The Radisson Hotel in Limerlick, St Louise's Hospital in Dublin ( 24ft wall murals), all the Dim-T Restaurants and small boutiques in Denmark, France, Canada and Uk.
- 1988-01 Alison was the owner of an internationally renowned textile design company called Repeatz. It was highly regarded as an innovator within the textiles industry, always two years ahead of the market. Alison was responsible for directing 20 designers and was constantly liaising with customers on commissions and new collections. During this time she established an international reputation building up clients around the world.
Her company, Repeatz, exhibited at international trade shows in New York, Frankfurt, Brussels, Lille and London. Clients ranged from Pierre Frey (France), Textra (UK), John Wilman (UK), Westpoint Stevens (US,) Crowson (UK), Algemene (Belgium), Croscill Home Fashions (US) to Vymura, Coloroll and Vantona. When you go into almost any home you will see something designed by Repeatz on weave and print products such as curtains, bedding, embroidery, wall coverings, floors, ceramics and tabletops. - 1990-01 Lectured on Design and the Textile Industry to Universities.
- 1989-92 P/T Lecturer at Huddersfield Polytechnic to Textile HND students.
- 1987-89 P/T Lecturer at Rotherham College of Art & Technology, teaching Foundation, BTEC Textiles and Fashion and Textiles. Organised a two day course on Printing for Teachers in primary and secondary schools.
- 1985 Chosen as the only new designer outside London to sit on the board representing Young Designers at The Chartered Society of Designers.
- 1984-86 Organised events, exhibitions and functions for The Chartered Society of Designers for the North East Region.
- 1983 Graduated from Art School ( now Huddersfield University ).
